How to Recognize the Symptoms of Cancer

Successful treatment of cancer goes hand in hand with early diagnosis. Knowing what your body is like in its normal state will make it easier to discover any possible problems so you can tell your doctor in its earliest stages. Some things that you may spot can be directly related to the early stages of cancer.

Lumps may appear that are strange and these need to be reported. A lump that turns out to be from cancer will most like have no pain. Most lumps that do appear really are not connected to cancer but having them checked when they appear is the safest way to handle this.

Experiencing breathlessness, hoarseness and persistent coughing can be the result of several different health issues like inflammation or infections but there is always the outside chance it is from lung cancer. To be safe it is best to report these symptoms if they have persisted for more than a couple weeks. The first thing you should is call your doctor if you have cancer symptoms or lung cancer symptoms.

Any color changes in the stool needs to be reported especially if it becomes much darker than usual, has blood or is very red. Any time bleeding occurs that has to apparent cause it should be reported to the doctor right away. Nose bleeds and bruises are rarely cancer signs but if they are accompanied by other symptoms they need to be checked out. Always consult a medical professional if you have cervical cancer symptoms.

When moles appear it probably will not be cancer but it is always best to consult with your health care professional.  Unexplained weight loss may not be cancer related but there is something going on and a consultation with your doctor is wise. If you have any concerns about something that is happening with your body that is out of the norm, run and don’t walk to your health care professional. Keep in mind that the greatest chance you will have to have successful treatment if you do have cancer is to get help as early as possible.
